"Our project is underway and our prime contractor is providing project reporting, which includes all subcontractors. We are worried that the project reporting is not accurate."
Unfortunately, a prime contractor's construction expertise does not always equate to management expertise, especially in the area of Project Controls. Often times there is a disconnect between the actual physical percent complete and the reported percent complete, which can skew progress invoice billings, jeopardize the budget, and derail business planning. This disconnect may be driven by an inadequate number of support staff or the lack of competent personnel. Whatever the reason, PMP Associates is familiar with this scenario and can help. Our consultants will review the earned value system, substantiate the physical progress, rebaseline the schedule (if significant), and formally document the corrective actions taken to correct the inaccuracies.
"The prime contractor is claiming damages for work occurring over the course of the project, but given the lump sum nature of the contract we have very little project data."
Depending on the contract structure not all project controls information is disclosed to an owner. PMP Associates can derive "telling" metrics from very little data. Native format schedule files are a plus, but sometimes not necessary to substantiate claims. Let PMP Associates show you our strength in claims analysis.
"We have a Project Controls team in place for our project, but we would like an extra set of eyes for a couple hours a week to provide an executive analysis."
While PMP Associates prefer to be involved in projects from the beginning we can also be utilized on an as needed basis for schedule reviews, earned value analysis, forecasting and other Project Controls related matters.
